I had used Riz 8 years ago to buy my first condo so it was a no-brainstorming that I would use him again to sell. My experience with the Riz Gilani Team at Dreamtown was amazing. Riz, Amy and Tessa are prompt with their responses, patient and always pleasant to work with. On top of all the pleasantries, they are top of their game as far as knowing and understanding the market and all the ins and outs of getting deals done. As a first time home buyer, there are so many things that run through your mind like the right house, the best financing and those special programs available to only first time buyers. As much as you try to prepare on your own, there is always that doubt that you did not do something right. The search with my first realtor went well at the beginning but I started to notice a decrease in interest with my search as it was taking a while to find the right property and also I was not a fast close. To refer to Riz as my realtor is just not enough. Riz is an expert, a professional, and above all a trusted friend. In 2012, I moved to Chicago knowing nothing about the real estate market or even quite where I wanted to live. Nor did I know Riz, he contacted me after I submitted an inquiry through the Dreamtown website. Riz showed me many options in different neighborhoods. I knew from the very beginning that he would be a phenomenal realtor, when he went above and beyond the neighborhoods I suggested we look, and took me to see some properties in West Loop. At the time, that neighborhood wasn’t even on my radar, but I quickly fell in love with a place there and he put together an offer! Day or night, somehow Riz was always available to answer my questions or patiently explain next steps in the process. Fast forward four years later, when I was ready to sell my condo and move to a larger space, Riz was ready at my first call. I needed to fix up some things in the condo I was selling, and working full time on weekdays I was dreading dealing with contractors, painters, and construction. Always rising to take care of his clients first, Riz literally handled the entire operation. My experience with Riz was great, I could not have asked for a better realtor. We had been looking at condos for months, he was never pushy and when a deal fell through he was back at it looking up more properties and opening my eyes to different assets. This was my first home so I was determined that the “almost perfect” home was out there for me and Riz found it! To say that Riz went the extra mile to help sell our property is an understatement. We were out of town owners trying to sell a rental, in the middle of winter, with the added pressure of having already purchased our next home and a 2nd baby that just arrived. I can’t praise Riz enough. I had been dreading the whole process of selling my condo, especially since I spend most of my time in the house I bought in Michigan. But as soon as I met Riz, I felt better because of his expertise, friendliness and patience. My experience from the first contact to closing could not have been more amazing. I wasn’t even sure if I would qualify to purchase and didn’t know where to start but Randy set me up with an excellent mortgage team who walked me through the paperwork and parameters. From there Randy’s phenomenal skills in listening, researching, and knowing the market took over and he sent me perfect matches to our needs and wants. His style is informative, friendly, and relaxed, though; never pushy, salespersony, and you definitely won’t feel pressure if you don’t like a property, are worried about the costs, or just decide this isn’t the right time after all. He was careful to stick within our very long list of “must haves” and “can’t have” and even with all our limitations found us what is truly a dream home. From the inspection to contract negotiations to closing he was there for us with information, advocacy, and referrals. Even on the day of closing when the sellers sort of screwed up, Randy and the fantastic attorney he recommended handled it and in a few minutes it was resolved. This is the most beautiful, spacious home I could imagine – plus we got it at a price that I can actually afford – I never in a million years thought I’d be living in a place this incredible, at least, not in real life. As a first time homebuyer, I had no idea where to begin. I am so lucky that a friend had recommended that I contact Tessa! I cannot imagine having gone through the entire home buying process with anyone else. A few of the many things that are impressive about Tessa is her eye for detail, knowledge, and transparency. Whenever we went to see a property she was able to point out things I didnâ??t know I should be looking at. For example, Tessa could just look at the building exterior and could point out the quality/state of the buildingâ??s materials, such as the condition of the roof, brick, etc. This was important so that I was able to keep in mind the potential cost of repairs, and whether or not those repairs would be immediate or a few years out. In regard to communication, it has always been very easy to communicate with Tessa. She is pretty quick to respond to a call or text . There were plenty of times I contacted Tessa to ask questions, advice or for reassurance on something and I appreciate that she was always very patient with me. I never felt pressured or rushed into making decisions. Even after I was under contract, Tessa continued to help me. She provided recommendations for everything I needed, such as inspection company, real estate attorney, etc., which saved me time that I would have spent researching these things on my own. Even when I had bumps in the road with my lender, Tessa went above and beyond to help me find a solution. I truly canâ??t emphasize enough that Tessa was so great to work with! Where do we begin!? Our experience with Riz Gilani was SO positive and we could NOT provide a strong enough recommendation. At the onset of our sale experience, we found Riz to be extremely well researched (e.g. he came well prepared with comps) and a large amount of experience from which to draw. As we interviewed various candidates, Riz was never pushy and respected our timing. Even when our sale process hit a few bumps in the road, Riz frequently had a prior, similar experience from which to leverage unique strategies or ideas. As such, Riz was excellent at anticipating next steps and potential hurdles and was proactive about getting in FRONT of these hurdles. Riz was such a hard worker that he even handled arranging and being present for many of the necessary repairs to our home to ensure these repairs were done properly and to keep the sale process moving along smoothly. Another extremely valuable attribute to recognize is his responsiveness. On many occasions, even when we texted/emailed at odd hours, Riz responded always within the hour and often within minutes. This responsiveness and thoroughness of communication confirmed Riz was always on top of everything. It is also worth mentioning Riz was very respectful of COVID precautions (we listed in April), which was particularly appreciated as we were 7-9 months pregnant during the sale process. While working with Riz, we experienced nothing but the utmost professionalism. Even still, we feel that we made a friend in the process as Riz is just such a wonderful person to work with. I’d never worked with an agent for my renting needs, but Ben set the bar incredibly high. In the past, I’d comb through incoherent craigslist posts and send out empty calls to friends. Randy was our agent for both the sale of our condo and the purchase of our new home. From the get-go he was motivated, responsive to our needs, and offered many helpful, insightful ideas to make the process work for us as we navigated through the currently challenging real estate market. Riz is an amazing realtor, and he truly looks out for your best interest! Riz is everything you want in a realtor — honest and genuinely caring. He asked the hard-hitting questions if we didn’t, and he helped us look at the mechanics and condition of the homes. One of the places we saw had nice finishes and we really liked the layout, but we came to the realization, it wasn’t worth the investment because it actually needed a lot of work done. He advised the building needed tuck pointing, new windows, roofing repairs, and he showed us areas where it looked like there was water damage. He estimated how much more we’d have to invest for repairs and maintenance. Riz is extremely responsive and punctual. We saw a few homes with him, and he always arrived before we did. When we decided to make an offer, he gave great negotiation recommendations, and I believe that’s how we became the winning bid. He did comps and never pressured us to offer at our highest price point. Purchasing a home is a life-changing decision, but he made the process easy.Riz is well connected in the industry and suggested several contractors to us (windows, hvac, plumbing). My sisters also purchased with him, and we all agree, we absolutely adore Riz. He has become our family realtor and friend. The best of the best!
